Data Policy

This Data Policy describes how Pratishthan Live, an initiative of the Lotus Petal Foundation, manages the data entrusted to us. It works alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and why.

1. Scope

This policy applies to all data collected through the Pratishthan Live website and programmes — including learner enquiries, enrolment details, school partnership information, and academic records created during a learner's journey.

2. How we store data

Data is stored in secure systems used to run our programmes, such as our records, communication tools and learning systems. Access is limited to team members who need it to support learners and schools — for example, counsellors, academic coordinators and teachers.

3. How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required to support a learner through their NIOS journey and any related record-keeping. When data is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or anonymise it.

4. Keeping data secure

We take reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. These include access controls, limiting who can view sensitive information, and working only with reputable service providers. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we work continuously to protect the information you share with us.

5. Learner & school data

• Learner academic data (such as registration details, assignments and progress) is used to deliver teaching and track completion.
• For school partnerships, we handle student data shared by the school responsibly, and only for the purpose of running the programme.
• We share data with NIOS where required for registration, examinations and certification.
